But that was by my choice.
You always gave me water.
I could hear Your gentle voice.
You rained down from heaven,
Manna from above.
You provided me with guidance.
You showered me with love.
You had not forsaken me,
I’m the one who turned.
There was life to experience,
Many lessons to learn.
I wanted to fall to pieces.
I needed to run and hide.
Your loving arms sustained me,
Strength you gave inside.
Just to have more time with You,
To slow life’s speeding pace.
I long to feel Your presence,
To enjoy Your warm embrace.
It’s not about performance,
Anything I say or do.
Your grace is all that matters.
Your blood has brought me through.
Your Spirit is sweet as honey.
You fill my soul’s desire.
You satisfy my longings,
And set my soul on fire.
I hunger to know your ways,
As You guide me in Your truth.
My heart’s scars tell my story.
Your light through me is proof.
