TITLE: Do You Feel the Hunger?

Do you feel the hunger? That’s the question of the day. Do you feel the hunger?

There are many different types of hunger. There’s the hunger food, water, friendship, and family. There’s also the hunger for acts of sin such as adultery, fornication, idolatry, hatred, and drinking (Galatians 5:19-21). The hunger I’m talking about, however, is the hunger for the Lord.

We all have free will to choose the path we want to take. Some will take the path of sin while others will seek the Lord. Once we begin to seek His face, if we are truly seeking Him, the Lord will put a hunger for His Word in our hearts. It’s this hunger that causes us to attend church and not just go to church. There is a difference.

This hunger puts a desire in our hearts to read God’s Word daily and to pray for others as well as ourselves (I Thessalonians 5:17). This hunger causes us to want to be like Jesus and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:39). This hunger will also cause us to want to be righteous like Jesus (Matthew 5:6).

Our desire as Christians should be to continue to grow in our knowledge of God and the direction He has for our lives. So again I ask, “Do YOU feel the hunger?
