I have lately taken to writing more for fear of venturing out into the cold weather, but as I am sitting here, looking out the window at the snow that has fallen only this morning, I see how beautiful the world looks covered in white. White is often used as a picture of purity. God says in Isaiah, “though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” I can now look at snow as the picture of what God has done in covering my sins by His sacrifice for me. I no longer have be flustered by snow as an inconvenience, but praise God that He has given me a daily reminder of His grace.
We will not always understand God's design. “His ways are not our ways” (Isaiah 55), but isn't it wonderful when He does reveal to us a purpose in His design in such a way as to change our perspective and to turn our eyes toward Him?
