TITLE: True Satisfaction By Joanna Collins 10/17/04 |
|
Tomorrow, I will hunger and thirst again. I will grow weary and become restless. My friends will want to laugh again and my family will want to talk. My dog will undoubtedly beg for another bone. My soul will want to reach out in prayer. My spirit will want to sing, and my heart will hunger for God’s word. Satan, well he’ll surely try.
Will we ever be truly satisfied, or should we be? If I was always satisfied, I’d never eat or drink. I’d never work or rest. I’d never hear my friends laughing or carry a burden for a loved one. I’d never see my dog’s brown pouting eyes when he begs for a bone. I’d never pray, praise God, or read His word, then I’d never know true satisfaction that will come when I hear, “Well done my child, welcome home.”
