The hurricane season begins
As Charlie is followed by Frances
The rain is driven by wind
As the hurricane advances.
Frances came to finish
What Charlie had started
Leaving devastation in their wake
As they hastily departed.
Now Ivan is brewing
Just off the southern shore
Threatening to bring us
Death, destruction and more.
We are promised test and trials
They come in different forms
We face both sickness and death
As well as heavy storms.
My dear beloved brothers
And sisters in the Lord
God has a special promise
In His precious Word.
We need not be afraid
Or feel that we’re alone
For God is always with us
He won’t forsake His own.
So whether we’re facing sickness
Or wind and heavy rain
God promises to deliver us
And comfort us in our pain.
Deut. 31:8
"And the LORD, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." (NKJ)
