Within the flood of time do lie
The gates of fire are opened wide
I cannot in my life deny
That I have felt the jagged edge
I have walked the tumultuous ledge
I have fanned the flames so close
I have burned with the pains of those
Who have put their trust in men
And have reaped the deeds of sin
What mortal man that has sojourned
Within the realms of life as known
Can look back on abundant years
And behold the seed that he has sown
And not see strewn along that path
Grapes of bitter raging wrath
Through the windowpane I peer
Ever watching drawing near
Teams of heavy, driven thought
I know the flames for me refining wrought
Although the blaze rise ever high
And the tempestuous storms rage ever nigh
The flames are but the door thrown open wide
To thoughts, deeds and spirits tried
Just a thought: Life is for character building, and character building is for Life
