TITLE: BIND MY MIND TO HIS MIND By Joseph Jay 08/24/04 |
|
From the time I was a wee little boy I was told the stories of how Jesus walked on the waters, healed the sick, made the blind see, and continuously portrayed unconditional love to his faithful followers and even to his enemies. I knew that this was the person that I wanted to look up to and become more like. Unfortunately " The World" had other plans for me and thus I went through turbulent and rebellious years that I am now ashamed of. I know that because I survived these years because of His grace, I would later in life use experiences that although I'm not proud of, can be used to help those about to make the same mistakes. My lessons learned have been adapted into my writings of warnings and directions inwhich I can better instruct those wallowing in the pain of poor decisions.
I do not allow myself to "throw stones" but instead to gently instruct those wanting to be more like Jesus. Without his example of "living to die"; what we have to look forward to? The lesson that Jesus so painfully showed us can be looked at as the ultimate sacrifice for love of your brothers and sisters. We learn that he had alternatives and could of been just as rebellious as "my teenage years", but he chose to do the will of God and go through the pain of death, knowing that his burial and resurrection would ensure us of an eternal life of painfree
living. I choose to live my life as closely as I possibly can to the walk of Jesus, knowing that like him when I die, I will be eternally set free forever. What better lesson in life to learn than the hope for reuniting with our Savior?
