When Jesus came to this earth He veiled the brightness of His glory. Yet because He is Light, wherever He went the light of God’s love that never fails shone out.
Depending on people’s attitude, when that love convicted them they either rejoiced to see their need of a Savior, and embraced the good news, or they rejected His conviction and felt irritated, if not angry.
To the rich young ruler, as He approached Jesus the love was too bright and he turned away.
When Jesus approached the sycamore tree in Jericho, Zaccheus welcomed the conviction, repented and offered to make restitution.
Judas repelled the Light and went out into darkness.
Although Pilate admitted Jesus was innocent, in the end he chose the darkness of lies over the Light of truth.
We each come to a critical moment in our experience when we allow the bright light to burn out the sin in us or we decide we love darkness rather then Light.
Father I welcome your convicting light and pray, Lord change me.
