TITLE: Power Not Defined By Donna Smith 05/15/04 |

Who should I say has sent me?
Tell them “I AM.”
How do you summarize?
The creator of man.
Voice in the thunder;
Fire that does not burn.
Cupping the words like water;
To my lips I do learn.
The Spirit behind those words,
Flowing forth as a breath.
Can bring the worst of sinners,
To convert upon his chest.
It is not money,
Wealth or fame.
It is the Power,
Of His spoken name.
To silence devils.
To fan the wind.
To command the blood,
To wash the sin.
Kingdom of God.
Not in word but in Power.
Spirit upon my lips;
Embracing my final hour.
To form the stars,
Shine in all their splendor.
Christ’s chosen name,
That no man can render.
It is not the laws,
Where they sign their name.
It is not the doctrine,
They loudly proclaim.
It is the innocence of a child.
A weary man’s last plight.
It wasn’t the mud,
That gave man sight.
Man has power,
To lay down his life.
But to raise it again?
None the insight.
A wire,
Can light an entire city.
But to reach the soul of man;
A beautiful pity.
The Power of His Word.
A martyr’s head held high.
Embracing the joy,
Of their final sigh.
The substance of a man’s belly,
What power can sustain?
But the Words of scripture,
To wash over pain.
Who can conquer a nation,
Without a sword or quill?
But the Words of the Father,
Pouring forth His great will.
Who can bottle love?
Sold for a great price.
To bottle power-
The cross sacrifice.
A new glorious Kingdom.
A new replenished earth.
Things unimaginable,
For our precious worth.
Returning for a spoken promise.
Reigning in piercing majesty.
To deny him-I cry!
Life’s final tragedy.
To preach the cross,
Which we endower.
This my dear friend,
Is our essence of Power.
