Exposing human skin to sun light can result in tanning. The use of sun blocks and other means of protection can reduce the health risks associated with tanning.
The tanning of animal skins to produce clothing, footwear, furniture, shelter, body armor, and all kinds of leather products and tackle, goes back to the ancient world, using natural and (later) chemical processes.
A tanner could refer to the natural or man-made chemicals that are used in the tanning process, or to the individuals who do the work.
. . .
God created Adam as a trichotomous being, consisting of a physical body that God made from the elements of the Earth (1), initially with the means (2) to sustain it indefinitely; a soul, being the part that was created in God’s (never-ending) likeness (3); and a living spirit that enabled him to be in a relationship with God.
From Adam’s rib (4), God created the woman’s (later named Eve) body; and a soul and spirit, as He had done with Adam.
After the Fall of Man, Adam and Eve retained their physical bodies, but was denied (5) any further access to the tree of life, and its sustaining benefits. They retained their soul with its everlasting life, but their living spirit, that had enabled them to be in a relationship with God, died.
Not only did Adam and Eve suffer this spiritual death, but from that day forward, their spiritually dead condition would be passed down to the future generations throughout the course of human history, separating them from a relationship with God.
Just as the tanning process transforms the composition of the animal skins to serve a purpose and usefulness, a process had to be established that would regenerate the dead spirit in Man, enabling Man to once again have a relationship with God.
Without the regeneration of one’s dead spirit and the accompanying gift of eternal life, the soul with its everlasting (never-ending) life, is destined to spend all of eternity separated from God, upon departing this world.
The difference was that, unlike the tanning process of animal skins for future usage, Adam and Eve did not have the means or capability of regenerating the spiritually dead condition they received, and that would be passed down to all of their descendants.
The majority (6) of Fallen Man, though atheism, false religions, and their accompanying rituals and practices, have been greatly deceived, and are on the road that leads to destruction.
Atheists believe there is no god at all, and therefore there is nothing such as Hades (7) or the Lake of Fire to worry about. The followers of false religions believe in their false gods and or in their religious practices and rituals, as the means to avoid divine wrath and to secure earthly and heavenly blessings.
At the end of the day (life), Jesus will either prove to be everything that He said He was, or not. I believe He will, and have staked my eternal future on it.
“Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me (John 14: 6 NASB2020).”
As of the Fall of Man, we ALL come into this world with a body that now has an expiration date; a soul that lives on after departing this world; and a spirit that is dead.
God’s one only plan of redemption (8) was revealed to Man in stages throughout the course of human history.
I believe that each individual of each generation is accountable to the extent that God and the things of God were made known to him or her, beginning with the knowledge of eternity, that God places in every soul that He creates (9).
Through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the means (10) for our salvation was provided, and the single requirement (11) for anyone to receive salvation was announced.
Throughout the course of Church history, unauthorized religious authorities have added to or distorted the unadulterated Gospel Message, that is encapsulated in John 3: 16, 18.
Salvation is an unearned and undeserved gift from God, based on one’s faith in what He did for us on the cross. The regeneration (12) of our dead spirit is the work of God that takes place at the moment of salvation.
