Do you know the One the prophecy’s about?
I have read it and it clearly speaks to me—
It’s of Israel’s Messiah without doubt.
Seven centuries beforehand prophesied
He would come without appeal or lordly look
And would mostly be rejected and denied—
Deepest details all recorded in the book.
Man of sorrows, well acquainted with their griefs,
Though rejected did not fail to intercede;
He would persevere despite their unbelief
And would execute redemption as decreed.
He would die and yet He would prolong His days—
Surely speaks about Him rising from the dead;
To this day I never cease to be amazed
At the preciseness of all the prophet said.
But so many have these Scriptures there to see
Yet they never seem to grasp they were fulfilled,
And they fail to see the cruciality
Of the Man of sorrows risen, who was killed.
I’m dumbfounded by the sad reality
There are Israelites who do not realise,
Do not know that such a potent prophecy
Has always been there, right before their eyes.
