The upshot of Paradise lost,
The topic of Scriptures pages,
And the awful price it would cost.
Way back in the garden of Eden
When Adam and Eve fell in sin
The Father in mercy decreed then
The Seed of the woman would win.
He chose for this purpose a nation,
Through them His intentions declared,
In Zion was laid the foundation,
The way of the Saviour prepared.
Then Mary, a virgin appointed
Fulfilling what Scripture had told,
Brought forth to the world God’s Anointed
The Seed Who was promised of old.
It’s Jesus who’s name means salvation
Came down here as Immanuel,
Rejected by most of His nation,
He confronted the forces of Hell.
Condemned to the cross unconvicted,
As an innocent Lamb He was slain—
To pay for our sins was afflicted,
God turned such injustice to gain.
For death and the grave couldn’t hold Him,
Put the forces of darkness to shame;
As Jesus The Lord now behold Him—
The Paradise lost He’s reclaimed.
