I expect him to come and soon.
Hope disappears and fades to black, out of sight and beyond reach, promising all but delivering lack. Wistful leaning, pondering prose and such, never able to recognize the thing within reach, endless wandering catching not the eternal.
No heart can these thus fill, no pleasures worth the risk. Expecting joy, left wanting, Naked Soul drifts, longing for lifted wings. Sorrow follows as misery lingers and the despairing soul sighs. Searching, crying, the end of self looms, finally.
I expected him to come.
Naked soul, I say to you, your wanderings they are proof; worldly clothes, earthly, cannot cure the sorrowed root. Why put hope in things not of Me, expecting here the glassy sea? Heaven holds hands and guides the plans. Expect Me to act on your behalf, as satisfied souls can attest.
Naked soul, I see you believe, as doubt and chance give way to faith and certainty. Hope rises as love becomes aware of itself. Kaleidoscope dreams in shades of green, true color once hidden, awaken to life and possibility. Wonder and awe gape at newness of life. Expect not grandeur from earthly source but splendor from heaven itself.
I’m so glad he came.
Now Naked Soul, pleasure and purpose combine as one, surprising in ways that satisfy. Joining life’s dance, alert spirit for once, no longer numbing its pain, the heart embraces its maker, the one who clothes the naked. Garments of praise come easily now as if by unseen hand, while robes and jewels of spiritual kind adorn the lost now found. Linen rewards the coming day, with mastery in motion and big picture in mind.
There’s more hidden from earthly view, of course, yet the yearning it understands, expecting not a finished work this side of heaven. Naked Soul, when fully freed from mortal constraints and bondage to decay, will have a promised new body fulfilled. It will remember not its pain and grief, only peace and joy within and ecstatic praise from lips of rest. At last Naked Soul, upon that coming day, will freely worship Me, for I knew he’d come.
I expected him to come.
