Guzzling leaves, skins grow tight.
Shedding layers, changes start,
Golden threads a work of art.
Children watch them, adults too,
Spinning silk, gilded glue.
Isolation, locked down tight,
Silkworms hidden for many a night.
Safe and shielded, protected well,
Growth is happening, inside their cell.
God is watching, caring too,
How much more, for me and you.
Locked in homes, alone and sad,
A worldwide virus, so very bad.
Thousands dead, should we fear?
Or trust our God who’s always near?
Isolation, no human touch,
Social distancing is just too much.
We sit at home, the hours drag,
Fear intrudes, our spirits sag.
Protect us Lord, and loved ones too,
Guide our paths, what should we do?
Stand and pray, obey the laws,
Isolate and lock our doors.
Silk cocoons, keep us from harm,
The hand of God, His healing balm.
The worm inside, grows graceful wings,
The hope we have, it bursts and sings.
For now it’s hard, the loss is real,
No matter what, our God can heal.
When all is done, and Covid’s gone,
We’ll laugh again, the world as one.
