Pigeon sellers ply their trade;
Travellers from far and near
On pilgrimage are gathered here—
There’s a profit to be made.
Designated House of God,
Place of sacrifice for sin
Trafficking in wilful fraud
As exploitation rides roughshod,
Tramples truth in robber’s den.
Whip of cords in zealous hands
Ousts them from His Father’s place
Upturns money changers stands
And temple trafficking disbands—
Racketeers retreat in haste.
Fallen far from God’s intent,
House of prayer to den of thieves;
God’s Messiah Heaven-sent
To Israel in first advent—
God’s true house but few believed.
Chosen race, so deaf and blind
As their prophets long decreed;
Appointed witness to mankind
Had left their mandate far behind
Blinded to the promised Seed.
Failed to see it in the book
Missed Messiah’s first advent;
(Dust-covered truth—so few that look)—
His master plan, ignored, forsook—
Expedience their prime intent.
What of now? Are we aware?
Know what’s written in His Word?
Do we have the time to spare
To search God’s Truth as written there?
It’s revelation’s drawing board.
