I love, love, love this. Your little creatures are stunning and would make a great illustration. The message is powerful. I live the line about the tide washing away grains of ignorance. Stunning. With a bit of tweaking (and if you so desire, I'd love to help) this could be an outstanding picture book.

A very disarming read.
Sermon in a story--great job!

Congratulations on your 2nd place finish, Jan. I was thinking it would be a wonderful picture book. It reminded me of a Max Lucado book for children.

As usual, I enjoyed your writing very much. You've told a gentle story with a message. Like others, I can imagine this as a children's picture book. I like the little mathematical puzzle of the arms in the last sentence. That would work well with kids too. Congratulations on your well-deserved 2nd place.
