Ducks swimming among petals in a shady creek,
My cat sitting by the window watching the lightning streak,
A seagull looking at the churning sea from a boulder,
A lonely camper gazing at stars as the last embers smolder,
A little bird resting in her nest by a thundering cascade,
Serenity descends on me when scenes like these are portrayed!
White puffy clouds floating gently in the blue skies,
A flock of geese flying across the moon in modest guise,
Green fields by the highway sprayed with wild flowers,
A quiet sunny evening bathed with summer showers,
Rocks standing by the highway like sentinels in a parade-
Serenity rocks my mind’s waves when these pictures invade!
Seeing my mother kneeling by her bed at midnight,
Praying alone in the garden before the first rays of light,
Watching the gentle breathing of my baby at sleep-
Hearing church bells on a silent night in the woods deep,
Looking at nine-month old arms raised in prayer to Jesus!
Serenity engulfs my soul at the sight and memories like these.
Tall palms waving by the sea shore on a moonlit night-
A hungry little dog rushing to a small hut to get a bite,
Big spotted owls flying slowly in the quiet darkness-
Fireflies flashing their lamps without any tiredness!
A chill runs down my spine at the sight of these precious sights
Serenity fills my soul as a prayer flies towards heavenly lights!
