If a Boy Would Plant a Garden

If a boy would plant a garden,
He would need just a bit of land,
Through his dreams alone, it'd be grand.

If a boy would plant a garden,
He would mulch it mixing Pop Rocks,
Kit-Kats, Tootsie Rolls, and Knox Blox.

If a boy would plant a garden,
His worms that dig would be gummy
And the jelly slugs, quite yummy.

If a boy would plant a garden,
He'd wall it with chocolate bricks
And chew gum for mortar that sticks.

If a boy would plant a garden,
Licorice vines slowly would climb,
Covering the walls over time.

If a boy would plant a garden,
He'd have graham crackers for gates,
Through which he would welcome his mates.

If a boy would plant a garden,
Close to every corner would be
Where he'd plant a lollipop tree.

If a boy would plant a garden,
He would make - for sunny weather -
A red hammock of fruit leather.

If a boy would plant a garden,
Cotton candy’d hang in the skies,
Both at sunset and at sunrise.

If a boy would plant a garden,
Rainstorms would bring sugar crystals.
A dry spell, his water pistols.

If a boy would plant a garden,
He’d pave paths with Hot Tamales
Thick enough to hold up trolleys.

If a boy would plant a garden,
Every bush would grow some Skittles,
For a boy does need his vittles.

If a boy would plant a garden,
M&M seeds would grow flowers
And bear tasty fruit within hours.

If a boy would plant a garden,
He'd cut a bouquet, perhaps two
To help Mother feed her whole crew.

If a boy would plant a garden
He'd make room for him and me
And invite his aunt in to see.

Inspired by two of my wonderful nephews who thought candy would make good seeds to plant in flower beds.
