Volcanoes erupt,
Belching fierce flames
To obliterate all life in their path.
Earthquakes tremble,
Violently shaking the ground
Like gigantic dust mops.
Goliath-like storms
Breathe havoc across the land,
Swinging giant arms
To topple trees
And demolish buildings,
Before flinging them in fragments
To devastated terrain.
Still, God . . .
Astir, the nations—
Civil conflicts
Pitt brother against brother
To rip apart the fragile fabric
Of sovereign unity.
Demons of war
With devilish purpose
Entice with evil temptations
To battle over boundaries
And natural resources,
To struggle for power
And fight about causes,
Sadly to rampage
In the name of religion.
Terrorism carries a bag
Of indescribable horrors.
In any attack, grief abounds
As the ground weeps red tears.
Still, God . . .
Astir, man’s heart—
Despite all his power
And in all his pride,
Man is powerless
Against the stir of nature
And warring nations.
He cannot save
Even his own soul
From ultimate destruction.
Still, God . . .
Almighty God,
Creator of the universe,
Who made man in His image,
Sees all, knows all,
And has control
Over all His creation.
Because of His great love
For His created beings,
He invites whoever will
To accept His great salvation
And dwell with Him forever
In Heaven.
He has ever been,
And He will always be
Still God.

God bless~
I liked the short thoughts. They made the rhythm feel like a clock ticking or a heartbeat.
Of course, the last line was the best.
