The morning belongs to Him
Intimate time spent so precious
To commune with Him in thanks.

The doves coo and the sun shines
Speaking to Him from the heart
To commune with Him in thanks.

The sound of morning a fresh day
In supplication thus made known
To commune with Him in thanks.

The gentle breeze touched my face
His voice and love truly endless joy
To commune with Him in thanks.

The armor stands ready to be worn
The protective shield strong defense
To commune with Him in thanks.

The anticipation of what lies ahead
Replete in His love and salvation
To commune with Him in thanks.

The evening curtain draws near
His light shines and darkness not
To commune with Him in thanks.

The time of day doesn't matter
Just call upon the name of the Lord
To commune with Him in thanks.

The sweet powerful scent of prayer
In consultation with the Sovereign God
To commune with Him in thanks.

The Hours with Him rapidly unfold
A blessing and gift our temporal home
To commune with Him in thanks.

The coins close eyes but open anew
The Savior sacrificed for ugly sin
To commune--eternally--with Him in thanks.

Your beautiful poetry has totally hit the nail on the head. Giving thanks at all times is the key. Developing an attitude of thanksgiving is one of the most important aspects of Christian life, and the only way for our faith to grow. An attitude of gratitude shows we're developing that life-sustaining trust in God. Thank you for your sermon in a poem. Nicely done.

Oh this is so beautiful!! And I absolutely love the line “The sweet powerful scent of prayer”, it reminds me of the fragrant fumes that ascended from the incense in the temple, that represented the prayers of people. As this says, the time doesn’t matter, just to spend that time communing with God so precious! Wonderful job on this!
