Earnestly discussing what it’s all about;
Glorious remembrance! There, a tiny shaft of light
Gained an entrance to my soul dispelling doubt.
I had wavered through the years ‘twixt many points of view
My philosophies were apt to vacillate,
Would abandon long-held dogmas, grasp at something new
Which would feed my avid penchant for debate.
Failed to find the answers that would satisfy my soul,
All discussions and debating yielded nought,
Ideologies of men, vain, empty, dead and cold—
Oh how useless my pursuit of abstract thought!
On the night in question after robust revelry
In my ignorance I spoke without a clue—
Through my mental fog a revelation came to me
‘Either Jesus Christ is truth or nothing’s true.’
Seed of faith God planted on that night in ‘85
An event that never ceases to astound
Death to my philosophies— in Christ was made alive—
Crucial turning point—so simple yet profound.
