Announcing each new day
With pinks and purples o’er the sky,
I bow my head to pray.
Lord, thank You for your awesome works,
Your beauty in creation.
Each panorama that You paint
Is cause for inspiration.
I praise You for Your steadfast love,
Salvation full and free,
For mercies new each morning,
And grace You grant to me.
You’ve blessed me so abundantly,
Supplied my every need,
And even in the trying times,
I know You'll safely lead.
I’m thankful for Your oversight
Of all things everywhere,
And that You still will listen when
I come to You in prayer.
I ask for Your protective hand
On friends and family,
That You will guide and keep the ones
Who are so dear to me.
Deliver them from Satan’s ploys
And draw them close to You.
Then shelter them beneath Your wings,
And make them strong and true.
And, Father, would You bless Your church
Around the world today.
May Gospel reach the hungry hearts,
Both near and far away.
Please help our nation’s leadership
To listen to Your voice.
When You divine direction give,
May they make that their choice.
Direct our country to return
To values of the past,
When founded on your Holy Word
With virtues that would last.
And with armed service personnel,
I pray that you’ll abide.
May firemen and policemen feel
Your presence at their side.
For those with needs of every kind,
I ask Your healing touch,
As well for any in distress
Who need Your help so much.
May I work for Your kingdom’s good
Until You come again,
My life bring honor to Your name,
For Jesus' sake, Amen.
Then when the moon has scaled the heights
To end the realm of sun,
I’ll kneel in meditation to
Thank God for all He’s done.

I especially liked these lines from the last stanza:
