At the end of her rope with no options left,
either take this risk now, or face certain death.
A pariah she’d been for twelve long, painful years,
so she stretched out her fingers in spite of her fears . . .
The Beginning:
How long it had been since she laughed with her friends,
before the beginning of this horrible end.
Even her husband, the love of her life,
no longer wanted a cursed, unclean wife.
For twelve endless years, alone with no hope,
avoided by others, but she saw the looks
of derision and scorn and self-righteousness,
after all, only sin could cause such wretchedness.
Perhaps she should end this cruel mockery of fate,
why continue this life despised and afraid,
when she noticed the street swarmed with strangers and friends,
like bees around honey, they followed a man.
A man of such power he shone like the sun,
radiating kindness and love for each one.
It was then the idea dawned bright in her mind
if she could just touch him, perhaps if she tried . . .
With uncommon boldness she entered the throng
a small, silent shadow, she crept quickly along.
With her last ounce of strength she reached out her hand.
“Who touched me just now?” asked this amazing man.
Trembling with fear she fell to her knees,
“I touched you, Lord, please have mercy on me.”
He replied with a smile of compassionate ease,
“Your faith has healed you, now go in peace.”
Beginning at her feet flowing up to her head
new life like a fountain over her spread.
Forgiven, healed, cleansed, no longer ashamed,
she lifted her hands, and praised Jesus’ name.
A New Beginning:
Now since that day her life truly began,
and her nightmare world was brought to an end,
she followed the man who ended her strife,
and faithfully served him the rest of her life.
