All alone
Among the trees, and rocks
All alone
Sent to preach
All alone
He had found no-one
Willing to hear
“Oh God, why am I here
All alone
On this mountain peak
Where are the people?
You sent me out
All alone
To this people
Now I sit
All alone”
Silence resounded
A bird mourned
The trees rustled
In the breeze
“To whom do I preach?
Why am I all alone?”
“Preach to the rocks
my Son.”
“What?
I am all alone?
Preach to the rocks?”
“Even the rocks
cry out.
Trust me.
Speak in the language of this people.”
He stood
All alone
Feeling foolish
But obedient
“In the beginning…
Haltingly he preached
Facing the biggest rock
Stumbling over the foreign words
All alone.
“I must be crazy.
I’m all alone.
The rocks cannot hear me.”
The trees rustled in the breeze
The sun shone from azure skies
And suddenly
He was not alone
A young man dropped from the tree
Excitedly yelling, “Tell me more!
Who is this Jesus?”
I am all alone
But I want Him.
God smiled down
As He watched his servant
“You see, my child, you were never alone.”
