A wonderfully powerful devotional. I love it! Good work & God bless! :)
This is so true. Thanks for wording it so well. When we see things through our own eyes we are plagued with the desire to have the latest shiny toy but Jesus takes our face in His hand and lovingly directs our gaze towards Him and when we look into His eyes we just don't care about those things anymore.
Wow! This was really neat! You did a great job of blending some very important 'stuff' into an easy-to-read-and-understand piece.

"He-centered" Like this phrase a lot! Packed a powerful message in 750 words!! Great job!!

Me-Centered? Nope. Never. Don't have a clue what you're talking about! Yeah, right! And I've never heard of Pinnochio either. LOL. Wonderfully written, even better message. Simply superb!

Wonderful voice on this piece--so different from most devotionals. This is truly masterful wordsmithing.
Good exortation! Favorite line: "The question is…are we willing to divert our eyes for good or just pretend to do so once in a while for appearances sake?"

Ho hum....now what's MY answer?! :-)
Very well written and very true. Great job.

I love your tone here - and you pack a powerful punch. I especially liked the end (from "We can now look at the horizontal plank..." to the end). So much to think about!!
Congrats on placing!

May the Lord continue to guide your quill as you write to glorify HIM!

CONGRATULATIONS! I am happy you won, I will remember your "He centered" phrase.
Congratulations, Joanne! I pray you are moved to submit this one to a devotional publication such as Reflections Magazine. It deserves a wide, wide audience!
