Joel and I walk the same railroad of life. At the same time, tracking rainbows in completely different directions. Married for life, love between us knows no bounds—promised to hold and behold. Something about him captivates the spark of being wooed and pursued like any other conservative girlish dream, ever. Just like old times when we were both young and vibrant.
There, is where we are both after.
Being the breadwinner of family of ten, he swoons me over with infatuation bringing me every possible rainbow's shadow, silhouette, contour, goldmine of every imaginable show of affection. To him, “It’s what my pursuit of you makes my living work and worthwhile, Honey”. “An exciting lifetime commitment,” he always comes up with words of endearment in my weakest moments.
We are getting- There.
When a tilt at windmills I get myself into trouble sometimes, he catches kisses of gentle wind and captures me in his arms --undivided empathy. Joy swells in my heart that it chases after me throughout the day.
There, is where we long for.
When I fight for seemingly unwinnable battle, no matter how trivial, Joel gears up at his heels and spearheads my enemy like young David facing Goliath. “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.” It’s Joel’s way of quarrying for his wife’s respect and honour. And always, Joel boots out the insecurity of loneliness.
There, is where we strive for.
When I run at circles over unattainable answers to why things happen, Joel extends a mile of a vision to keep an eye like a bird-collie watch to see how our forage for wealth of truth unfolds. Most of the time, God have us have a peek at His marvelous creation of His image of us through modern science of imaging and sonograms. “You see, Honey, He turns our hearts into dancing for when our weeping comes for the night.”
There, is where He wants us to taste and see that He is good.
Joel, my husband of thirty-nine years, still courts me and chases the “overflowing love that runneth over” for me, he often says to me living a lifetime of There together.
There, is where we are meant to be.
