in the shape of a fan
are its flowers
spreading or dropping
are the petals
It has three styles
and three sepals
interestingly reminding
me of God
in three persons
I am grateful
to God the Father
for His deepest love
richest mercies
which I cannot fathom
Yet You
never force Your love
on me
You give me the free will
to accept or reject it
I am incredibly indebted
to Jesus
my Creator
and Saviour
for His sacrificial Calvary love
I am truly
undeserving
neither have I contributed
to Jesus’ saving grace
Plainly speaking I am powerless
I thank God
the Holy Spirit
for His power
and indwelling
making me a new creation
It has always amazed me
How can God
whom the highest heaven
cannot contain
yet He is pleased to dwell in me
Iris also comes in
wide variety of colours
shades of purple blue and white
pink orange and brown
versatile for florists and gardeners
King Solomon
with all his wealth wisdom
and grandeur
paled in insignificance
to the flowers
Will God who creates
plants and flowers
which come and go and wither
not take care of me
through the eternity
As I admire its beauty
and the creativity
I cannot help
but reflect on God
the Creator and the Redeemer
Through Paul I hear His voice
the whole creation groans
waiting in eager
expectation
of the great redemption
Yes Lord
come quickly
to redeem this world
surprise us with
Your New heaven and New earth
The Lord Jesus
whose life is more valuable
than you and I
chose to die
to reunite me with the Father
You are holy and good
compassionate and kind
powerful and mighty
just and wise
I give You all the glory— grateful heart and life
