Awe-inspiring is the number 7. The more I look into it, the more enthralled I become. Generally speaking, it is the number of completions, the end, or the finality of something. It also symbolizes rest and transition to something new. It all began in Genesis, Chapter 1.
Seven is a prime number usually broken down into 3 and 4. So, 7 combines creativity (3) and practicality (4). It refers to completeness and the aspect of things well done.
I spoke about this amazing number with Pastor Del Bock of The Christian Center in Indianapolis, IN. He has studied the meanings of numbers for years. He said, "In the Bible, 7 is the number for God and is mentioned many times when God ordained and approved something or someone."
He told about the 7s in the human body:
There are:
• 7 holes in your head.
• 7 bones in your neck.
• 7 parts to your heart.
• 7 factors to your eyes.
• 7 major organs in your abdomen.
• 7 parts to your sternum.
• 7 ribs attached to each side of your sternum.
• 7 layers of tissue before bone.
• 7 possible facial expressions.
"The number 7 has countless implications in almost all the cultural beliefs. It is a cosmic number that relates to happiness and prosperity. It symbolizes power, perfection, renewal, joy, and prosperity in life."
Consider these additional points that Pastor Del Bock told me about:
There are:
• 7 days in a week.
• 7 continents.
• 7 seas.
• 7 colors.
• 7 types of light.
• 7 fundamental types of catastrophes.
• 7 notes on the musical scale.
• 7 directions.
• 7 letters in the Roman Numeral system.
• 7 wonders of the world.
• 7 hills in Rome, Istanbul, and Cincinnati.
• 7 liberal arts.
• 7 books in the Harry Potter series (and the number 7 is meaningful in them).
As 7 is said to have a cosmic power, if you see 7, it means you need to explore something beyond reality. This incredible number, 7, symbolizes a prosperous life, happiness, renewal, and perfection in every culture and religion known to humans. It even affects atheists. Some numerologists believe that 7 is so perfect and powerful that it represents a connection to the universe.
Human wisdom could not have come up with this, the infallible proof that our God is matchless in every way.
