at Zarephath
sparkled
when the flour and oil
refused to run out
But soon her calm composure
burned angrily
and turned gloomy
when her son died
and on Elijah her blame laid
Man of God
What do you have against me
Did you come
to remind me of my sin
so you kill my son
Give me Your son
Elijah took him calmly
from the mournful mum
He cried out to the Lord
Let this boy’s life return
The Lord heard Elijah’s cry
the child’s life returned
and he lived
Elijah picked up the child
to the grieving mum, He lived
Her face shone
at the smile of the child
You are a man of God
she declared
with joy and gratitude
Yes Jesus, the risen Son of God, lives
He lives within my heart
He walks with me
and chats with me
every day
Indeed I serve a risen Saviour
I keep company with Jesus
Alive and present
He knows where I am going
better than I do
A lively sense
of Jesus’ resurrection
give me overflowing energies
surely my trajectory
is always from glory unto glory
