She loves darkness.
She doesn't want to be exposed to light.
In darkness she doesn't have to show anyone who she is.
It's safe there, with shadows covering her.
She used to love the light.
Until the day that changed everything.
The day she began lying to cover the truth.
She thought she was doing it for her family's protection.
In the end she realized she did it for her own.
Now she didn't know what the truth was anymore.
She didn't go out unless she had to, staying hidden as best she could.
She thought of a quote she'd heard years ago about character being who you are even when no one was watching.
She swatted it away like a pesky fly.
Don't you want to live in the Light again?
Living in the Light of My love is more freeing than the darkness you've been hiding in.
Look at you.
You're pathetic.
Cowering in the corner all the time.
You're shriveling up and wasting away.
Daughter, don't listen to the voice that dwells in darkness, always lying.
Listen to My voice again, please.
Let the light of My love wash over you and make you a woman of integrity again.
It will take time, but My grace is here for you to begin healing, mending and restoring.
A single tear made a slow path down her cheek as she recognized the voice of her Shepherd, the Guardian of her soul.
*One Year Later*
She stands in the Light, relishing in the love and grace she has found in His presence.
Thank You, Father.
You have been, and are, so faithful.
You have renewed and restored me just like You promised.
I pray I will remain a woman of integrity.
I want to help others come out of the shadows of lies that hide them in darkness.
Help me to show them in Your Word how to hear Your voice and speak truth.
Thank You for teaching me the meaning of integrity and for taking me on the journey of seeking forgiveness of those I wronged with my lies.
I can never thank You enough for bringing me out of the shadows of deception into Your glorious light.
I love You Lord.
I love you My daughter.
I will always remain by your side. That is My promise to you.
I know, Lord, You have shown me over and over again this last year what integrity looks like.
You truly epitomize the meaning of the word, for in You there is no darkness.
May my life ever be a reflection of You.
Amen.
