In this age, Jesus has set pastors over His churches. They are responsible for overseeing the people, just as He has illustrated in the example of how a shepherd of sheep takes care of His flock. Consider the following examples of how this plays out in the ideal church:
1. Guidance and Direction:
Pastor Greg is a GPS for his parishioners. Just as a shepherd leads his sheep to green pastures and still waters, Pastor Greg guides his congregation through life's challenges and decisions, helping them find the right path in their spiritual journey.
2. Protection and Safety:
Sarah, a young professional in the church, faced a crisis. Pastor Maria became a shield, offering support, prayer, and wise counsel, just like a shepherd protects the flock from predators. In times of trouble, the pastor ensures the safety and well-being of the congregation.
3. Nurturing and Feeding:
Pastor Michael is like a nutritionist for the soul. He carefully selects spiritual teachings and messages, ensuring the congregation is fed with wholesome and enriching content. Just as a shepherd nourishes the flock, Pastor Michael nurtures the spiritual growth of his parishioners.
4. Individual Care:
Emily, a member of the church, faced a personal crisis. Pastor Rodriguez took the time to listen, comfort, and provide personalized guidance. This illustration mirrors the shepherd's attention to each sheep, knowing them individually and addressing their unique needs.
5. Community Building:

In these modern-day illustrations, the pastor embodies the qualities of a caring shepherd, actively involved in the congregation's lives, providing guidance, protection, nourishment, and fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth. As it should be, yes, but as it is?
