What if the trumpet finally sounded
And it happened this very night
The heavens will split wide open
And reveal a most breathtaking sight
In the eastern skies, it will take place
Where it is told that Heaven resides
With authority, our Lord Jesus Christ
Will summon His church to His side
Tonight could be a special night
When Jesus beckons us from a cloud
The glory of the Holy City behind Him
Heaven’s Choirs heralding Him aloud
He will shine like a mighty beacon
As His children make their flight
In a twinkling, they’ll be called home
And it could happen this very night
It could happen tonight; who knows?
Only the Heavenly Father knows for sure
When it is time, the trumpet will sound
Calling the ones sanctified and pure
Can you imagine the joy in Heaven
When His children enter the pearly gate?
They were ready for that trumpet blast
Knowing that Heaven would be their fate
From every country, they will ascend
The ones who have acknowledged his name
They are being called to their reward
After repenting of their sins, being so ashamed
Tonight, there might be a family reunion
As ancestors make themselves known
Having paved the way for the entry
Of future generations of family, unknown
Maybe tonight will be the very night
When unbelief will be finally put away
When the missing will mean the rapture
And Christ had come on that very day
Maybe tonight, His church will leave
Proving to skeptics that He is the King
In a twinkling is all that He will need
To gather His flock while the angels sing
Maybe tonight will be that blessed night
When we finally get to meet our King
Have Him welcome us with a hug
Oh, what a joy that embrace will bring
Just imagine that tonight was the night
And you never heard that trumpet call
That Jesus never knew your name
Passed you by, you stumbled, did fall
Just imagine that if it wasn’t too late
And you accepted him just in time
That trumpet sounded; you were gone
Into an eternity so rich and sublime
Maybe tonight. It’s a sobering thought
Knowing your eternity rests in your hands
You can put it off, thinking you still have time
Or repent and dwell in His promised land

I don't know a lot about writing poetry (wish I did) but I know a What a great message for beleivers and for those who are not beleiver yet. And I agree, a message that is needed "for such a time as this".
It was easy to read and held my attention to the end.
I enjoyed reading your poem.
