Gives an awe-inspiring gaze
Into a special space profound
A living being’s unborn days.
A glimpse of the Creator’s hand
As He knits a fragile soul,
A sight that helps me understand
Behind the scenes God’s in control.
Within a mother’s womb He moulds
An identity unique
As day by day a child unfolds
Demonstrating life’s mystique.
In mind I leave my sneak preview
And think on current moral norms—
Life’s sanctity is held by few,
I’m concerned for the unborn.
The world he enters has transformed
There has been a huge decline
The very life of the unborn
Now so often on the line.
I see him snug in his cocoon
Seems to suck his little thumb—
Secure within his mother’s womb—
What a blessing is a mum!
All life is precious in God’s sight
For His image we reflect—
It is the unborn’s sure birthright,
A sacred right we must protect.
