Writhing
Clawing
Eating away at my soul
I must get rid of the evidence
I stare down at my belly
A still small voice speaks
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you
Every one of your days was written in My book
Before one of them came to be
I knew this day would come
I knew the struggle you would face
I Am here
To help you choose life
You gave into the flesh
There are consequences to sin
'Getting rid of the evidence' is not the answer
It would be another sin
Heaping more shame on you
I see it there, lurking
Attacking you
Listen to Me
I am gracious and full of compassion;
Slow to anger and of great mercy
A tear
Another
And another
Sobs
My heart focuses on one word
Compassion
A word I've never fully understood
Until now
A weight lifts off me
Shame flees
Thank you God
For seeing me
Knowing me
Loving me
Being full of compassion
You're welcome My child
