Her twin sister Morgan, merely nodded in agreement.
“I really had a great day yesterday. Mom was relaxing by the pool, and I was able to float as good as she did. Maria smiled as she said the words.
“Well, I don’t know if you were floating like Mom, but okay, whatever.”
“This whole thing is kind of weird, don’t you think Morgan?”
“What’s weird?”
“I hear her yelling at times, and it tenses me up right away. I don’t like to hear Mom screaming. Plus, I don’t like him at all.”
“Who is him?” Morgan asked, as she touched her sister’s shoulder.
“The person Mom calls ungodly.”
“Oh, that one. Yes, she gets angry with him around. I wish he’d leave our mom alone.”
“The ungodly one has such control over mom. Wish we could talk to her about him and warn her.”
“But I heard mom crying too. You were sleeping at the time.”
“Yeah, but I’ve heard her crying many other times.”
“Oh boy here he comes again.”
“When are ya gonna take care of this stupid mistake and problem? Ya know I’m not liking this situation at all!”
“I know, but I’m rethinking this. Maybe—”
“NO! No maybe! Just not gonna work. Ya know how I feel. Ya got no choice here. Either deal with this and have me. Or ya don’t but then ya don’t have me. Think about it! I’m gonna meet my Buds at the pool, I need a cold drink.”
“Oh no! Mom is crying again. I feel so stressed. That ungodly one is bad. I wish she would tell him goodbye.”
Marie and Morgan fell asleep a short time after the ungodly man yelled. It was really early morning when they awoke. They heard another voice, a soft soothing voice, speaking with their mom.
“It’s okay, you won’t feel a thing. I promise you. And they won’t either. It’s being done every day, it’s just as routine as a tonsillectomy, or an appendectomy. So, nothing to worry about, dear, okay?”
They heard their mom’s voice, “Are you sure, they won’t feel anything?”
“Oh yes. Trust me. I’ve been doing this simple procedure for 15 years or longer. These procedures are relatively safe. Rarely, unsuccessful. But if this procedure should fail, it can be repeated.”
Then there was silence for the longest time. Marie and Morgan couldn’t hear anything at all.
“Oh No! Morgan!”
“What sis?”
“I think Mom is going to do something to take us out of her!”
They saw an overwhelming bright light. Something entered the space outside their safe water home!
“Move away Marie, move back! Get away! Get back!”
“Morgan, Help! I feel something pulling and poking at me!”
They grabbed each other’s hands, "Mom don’t do it! Mom, we want to stay with you! Please, Mom! Can’t you feel us? Don’t you know we're alive? God placed us in here together. We're living souls! Mom! Please...”
The light got brighter and brighter. The pulling and invasive object was gone. A hand touched them gently and lovingly. Then nothing. But a welcome peaceful silence.
No sound. No movement. Nothing.

“Morgan? Are you okay?”
“Yes Marie. And you?”
“I’m great. So is Mom! I don’t hear that ungodly man’s voice anymore. I hear a beautiful song right now. Do you hear it?”
“Yes, I do! It’s the two same songs I hear over and over. Amazing Grace, and How Great Thou Art.”
“Mom has been speaking with many new voices. All sound so nice. So comforting. And they keep mentioning God praising Him over and over!”
“Mom told them all that she stopped the ungodly man from getting rid of us. I heard her tell Jesus she was sorry. And thanked Him for His strength. We'll be making our debut in a couple more weeks. But for now, I’m happy right here in our safe little bubble. Thank You God!"
