to my defense
when I have fallen
in debilitating sins
and face unseen challenges
Who would be my refuge
when I flee from the enemies
of my soul
seeking to destroy
and depress me
Who would stand by me
when I grope in darkness
walking through
the shadow of death
and the howling of wilderness
Who would lead me
to higher ground
to a strong tower
that I may take refuge
against the enemy
I need a mighty
fortress
and a safe haven
to escape incessant
attacks
Yes, I will come humbly
with nothing to bring
but heavily laden burdens
to Him who invites
Come all those who are weary
Yes I will gladly take Your yoke
and willingly learn from You
for You are gentle
and lowly
in heart
What immense promise
What great joy
that You are my very present help
and strength
in times of troubles and fear
So I will not tremble
even when the earth quakes
and the mountains rocks
I will stand firm and put my trust in
the Man who stills the storms of Galilee
