When did the monologue begin,
That repeating voice of shame?
With a moment in the Garden
Came separation’s pain!

‘You will not die,’ deceptive words,
That birthed a searing fall,
And Adam handed over reign
To destruction’s death for all.

But Jesus, with the nail-scarred hands,
Redeemer of the lost,
The painful separation’s over
When we look upon Your Cross.
Yes Jesus, it’s all over
When we look upon Your cross.

No seed of displaced fallen man,
Could pay redemption’s cost.
Nor could the Garden’s little lamb
Cover innocence they lost.

The curse of sickness and disease
Unleashed a savage spray,
The Father’s image-bearer,
In pain, had lost the way.

But Jesus, with the nail-scarred hands,
Redeemer of the lost,
The separation’s over
When we look upon Your Cross.
Yes Jesus, it’s all over
When we look upon Your cross.

When Light trod evening’s cool no more,
And darkness filled the man,
You bowed Your beautiful ravaged head,
And fulfilled the Father’s plan.

With thorns, and stripes and cross
Came New Covenant; new birth
Lord Jesus, lover of all souls,
You offered peace on earth.

All glory to the risen King,
Man’s sin You bore instead
We lift our hands in love’s refrain
At Your rising from the dead.

We sing to Him who absorbed the pain.
Of separation, death, decay,
Lord Jesus, with Your nail-scarred hands
You are the only Way.
