Topic: COUNT (01/27/22)
In a daily reading I came across this question:

Are you living life being pushed by your past, or is your future pulling you?

It was one of those ‘ouch’ moments.

The last several years my life has been like a buoy on the sea: tossed around with the waves, carried on the tides, and pushed by the underlying currents.

Sometimes I feel foolish that I’ve let the years slide by; a passenger in my own life. But then I remember the promises of God. He will restore the years of the locust. He will never leave or forsake me. I am His beloved. He is preparing a place for me. He doesn’t count my sin against me. He is my Redeemer. Even the Redeemer of lost years.

So I count on God. I rest on His promises. I rely on His faithfulness. I put my hope in the One who numbers the very hairs on my head. I trust in the creator of the unfathomable depths of the sea and the uncountable stars in the sky.

He is the only solid rock foundation. God is reliable and I will count on Him to come through every time. My past is redeemed and my future is secure in Him.

A thought-provoking devotion. I too experience “iuch” moments in my reading and I liked that these. I love the phrase “a passenger in my own life”. Well done.
