ADD TO MY FAVORITES
with the luxury
of knowing fully well
what it entails
and holds for me each day
I didn’t know about life
until I began
at two scores and ten
from living for self
to others
Life in the past
began inside
a cocoon of I ,me and myself
the world revolved
around me
I merely wanted
the world
to gravitate
towards me
and me alone
The world must begin
with me
and follow my ways
serving my interest
above all else
I cancelled
or deleted
those who failed
to meet my needs
and placate me
But things
are different now
something strangely warm
fills my heart
since I met the Lord
He begins
every thing new
in me
for the old has passed
and the new has come
Joy
consists not I me and myself
but Jesus first
Others next
and I can follow or wait
What immense
freedom and joy
I have found
that life begins upwards
and spreads to those around
There is more
to life
when I begin
my life this way
It’s never the same again
