Gross to look at and disgusting to touch, we shuddered in repulsion that such abhorrent adipose tissue had reproduced inside our overweight bodies. As an accountability group of men and women meeting each week to lose weight, this visual presentation was an effective tool in seeing the reality of a single pound of fat.
We often tell ourselves that we only lost — or only gained one pound. But that rubbery model demonstrated how sizable “just” a pound is. It adds up. Gaining just a single pound leads to another pound. And another. Soon, it’s five or more pounds of fat padding our bodies. In terms of food, one pound is equivalent to four sticks of butter. Or two cups of shortening.
Yuck, we say, because we don’t see the actual fat inside of us. But I do see the consequences of said human lard -- and I am not happy about it. Therefore, I’m working harder to rid myself of excess blubber. It’s not easy, but I’ve been successful in losing a substantial amount thus far. And now, I have only 15 blobs of the loathsome body invaders remaining to zap into nothingness. One pound at a time.

I like the way you worked the topic in, single pound of fat, one pound = 4 sticks of butter, 2 cups of shortening . Lots of visuals.
Good closing. And now, I…nothingness. One pound at a time. It shows your drive.
Very well written and communicated. It flowed smoothly and kept my interest throughout. Thank you
