that God should call
us His own
by giving
His Holy Spirit
as the first instalment
that guarantees
everything He’s promised
to every child
in His Kingdom
He’s given us
power to be His children
makes us to be His priests
serving Him
through serving others
Like Levites
He’s our treasured inheritance
We’re precious in His sight
The Good Shepherd
on whom we solely depend
Now I realise
How privileged
how blessed—
life in heaven
has begun on earth
God dwells in me
and I in His bosom
He offers me life
and vitality
— He is all I need
A Spirit filled life
I cherish
free from daily trappings
and earthly dreams
setting eyes on things above
fruit of love
when there’s no love
fruit of joy
when life’s tough
peace when life’s tumultuous
patience in trying times
kindness when tempted to retaliate
goodness when things sour and people mean
gentleness when unkindly treated
and self-control always
May Your Spirit
have His way in me
guide and lead me in Your trajectory
frail, not always wise
I do realise
