broken pieces
inside
and all around me.
Forlorn,
looking for a way
to find hope,
looking for a light
to pierce the darkness of my soul.
Wondering,
how this will end,
how things will come together,
or if they even will.
Confused,
questioning why my life fell apart,
looking for a way to emerge stronger,
longing for a new start.
Gathering,
broken pieces,
not making sense of it all,
for no sense is easily found.
Surrendering,
broken pieces,
where faith and hope meet,
placing them
at my loving Lord’s feet.
Waiting,
to see what he makes of them,
to know if there’s a purpose in the pain,
to feel his healing touch.
Trusting,
that he will know
how to break through,
to reach in and restore,
and make things new.
Watching,
as he takes each piece,
caresses it with love and compassion,
and lays it in place.
Seeing,
the pieces being transformed,
coming together,
a beautiful mosaic
that I will always treasure.
