His arms pulled from their socket, with nails secured into His wrists.
Tattered shreds of material covered His loins.
His eyes gazing upward, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” And finally, “It is finished…”
It was at that precise moment the ground shook ferociously, as the Heavens raged and stormed.
The daylight fully engulfed by darkness. Yet, Darkness couldn’t overshadow the magnificence of His Majesty.
His battered and bruised body, carefully removed from the wooden cross, where He gave His life willingly for sinners.
His burial place waited, deep within an opening of a stone, became His temporary tomb.
The Rock was laid to rest behind a massive rock.
His body battered, bruised beyond recognition.
Stripes He gladly received as He paid the ultimate price for our transgressions.
The Darling of Heaven crucified… our iniquities clothed His body.
The winds howled, as pitch darkness persisted in covering the earth.
The rumbling and tumultuous thunder reverberated throughout the land.
Which persisted until His promises, and prophecies bore fruition as He was indeed alive.
The heavy stone methodically rolled away from the small opening.
The overpowering light reflecting purity and peace.
The intensity of the weather brought to a lull when the King of kings walked out of His temporary tomb.
And then, the Author of salvation defeated death, as He walked the earth again.
Sovereign, powerful, compassionate and loving…our Lord and Savior fulfilled His, and our, Father’s plan.
In the beginning was God, and the Word was with God…and the Word became God.
For His children, for our purpose, He faced the storm, for our rainbow of perfect peace.
The significance of what He went through, for us...beyond comprehension.
The storms of life are inherently easier to handle, and face, when we place our trust in our LORD, while keeping our eyes on Him...
