There's no effort to begin.
And intention's not a virtue;
It takes finishing to win.
If you plan kiss the trophy,
You must work to pay the price.
And while others bask in pleasure,
You must make the sacrifice.
It takes discipline and courage
With unflinching attitude
As you leave the crowd behind you
To press on in solitude.
Don't be lured by earth's seduction,
Tripping up on compromise.
Keep your heart and mind united
And your focus on the prize.
Run your course with faith and patience,
Striding forward by His grace
On the pavement of His promise
And great hope to see His face.
Just don't quit before you're finished-
Don't give up before you're through.
There's a cloud of souls in waiting
Whose baton has passed to you.
Though your lap may be a solo,
Every heart is intertwined.
And united in His body,
We all cross the finish line.
