Wow! This is stunning. Poetry isn't my favorite genre, but this piece spoke to my heart. I felt like you took me by the hand and led me to this special place. Did I say wow?

LOST IN A TIMELESS PLACE
by j.e. mcwhinnie

In getting lost, I found myself,
while in the hurry of my hurried life,
down the crowded highways within all the hurried people.
A turn mistaken, made in haste, in the wanting to get more quickly there,
to all the places I had been before in my hurried, flurried race,
to take a road I had never known through fields of barley sown.
‘Twas beyond a bend on a wooded lane,
where the billboard sign became stands of pine,
where the hurry begins to slow.
Past a lake of crystal blue and along a path of autumn leaves,
along a fence of fitted stones that marked a field of velvet gold.
And in the field the harvest crows did glean the scattered seeds,
and the cattle grazed the tufts of hay in the sunshine of the day,
as a sparrow flew my way.
And as she neared, then set herself upon the shoulder of my soul,
she whispered softly in my ear,
“My Friend, welcome home!”
I lingered in this Timeless Place for a timeless share of When,
and though I returned to my hurried world,
I retreat there, now and then.
Absolutely beautiful, my friend. Your poem touched all the way to my soul!

Congratulations on your EC, for something that didn't need a lot of correction. Beautifully descriptive.

Congratulations,Jim, on your EC for this beautiful poem. I can understand why you "lingered in this Timeless Place for a timeless share of When,
and though I returned to my hurried world,
I retreat there, now and then." Lovely writing!
