I take my refuge from His shield,
No other Lord saves my sinful soul,
From the weapon the Devil can wield.
My Lord, my God, is my protection,
I am safe underneath the wing,
Of the angel He sends to guide me,
Oh, how sweet the voices sing.
The Lord is always my salvation,
My strength and my defense,
He stays by my side through trials,
To guide me with Holy sense,
He takes me by my shaking hand,
To a place where I stand on a rock,
I will praise Him and exalt Him,
He will steady my fall from shock,
May the words of my mouth please,
My redeemer who holds me near,
May the meditation of my heart,
Be the worship He longs to hear.
Turn your ear to me, Dear Lord,
Be my rock, my fortress, my refuge,
I hope for Your shelter to hide me,
From the daily wicked deluge.
My Lord is strength and salvation,
A fortified, highest tower,
In His house I am safe from evil,
He sends His army of power.
I will put my trust in Him,
My fitness of faith so strong,
Be not silent to me, Oh, Lord,
Your fortress is where I belong.
