Topic: HOPE (joyful, confident expectation in salvation) (03/05/15)
I drift into sleep counting stars, floating to Venus, then on to Mars
I dream of times yet to be, sacred glimpses of eternity
Greeting me at the pearly gates is One whose eyes don’t hesitate
To recognize me as His child, for on His palm my name is filed

Not once is pain or sorrow found within this precious, hallowed ground
Eyes misting, tears spill with delight as loved ones gone embrace me tight
O’er ageless faces divine light shines, their home is here for endless time
Senses now intensify as cherubs sing to God on high

Peace stills me like a storm that’s spent, my joy exceeds exuberant
Breezes perfumed with scents unknown, again He says I am His own
Brilliant colors I cannot name paint landscapes that I can’t explain
Phenomenal sights captivate--meadows, mountains, so much awaits

Fields of flowers tall as trees drink pristine waters that flow with ease
Then kiss the shores of grassy banks, while petals clap and offer thanks
His whisper says, “It’s time to go” as my heavy eyes open slow
A gifted dream, my hope’s secure--fears fade away, I shall endure

My waking prayer for ev’ry nation--stop all forms of degradation
We must step up and boldly tell the world of Him, Emmanuel
Hopes will die everyday because generations neglect to pray
Build new foundations on the Rock, and in His words put all your stock

Earth’s hourglass of dripping sand will one day stop at His command
It’s not too late to make amends, so do it please before life ends
I pray for hearts to open wide and understand God’s on your side
He wants for you the very best so you’ll enjoy His kingdom's rest

A beautiful picture of our future as Christians. Love how easily your lines flowed especially: Earth's hourglass of slipping sand will one day stop at his command.

You did a wonderful job with this poem. I like, especially the internal rhyming scheme you employed. The beauty of the poetic scenes give promise to our future.
