I love that your story starts with the white watch - which speaks to me of the girl's purity but at the same time the inexorable passing of time when her innocence would be lost. Your description of the father is riveting - not overdone, yet still giving me a vivid picture of the man in my head. The description of how he held his fingers on the armchair was excellent. Hope you do well in the challenge.

Wow!...there is so much symbolism in this. Ouch! As a parent, I wonder how many times I expected my children to behave because I didn't want my pride hurt. You choked me up when I realized it was too late to talk to her father. Thanks for writing this.

There are so many entries and while I would like to take the time to read them all, I don't seem to find it. So I even pray about which articles to read first... I am so thankful that Father God lead me to yours rather quickly. How moving and beautiful. How often we are more concerned with what others will think instead of how the Father loves us and wants us to love. Only through His Spirit. Thank you and God Bless you! He apparently already has!

This read like the beginning of a novel before the "flashback" -- excellent writing.

If this is a true story I applaud your candor and sharing your story and finally your spirit of forgiveness.

Although I couldn't relate because my dad was truly the opposite, I could feel your palpable pain as I witnessed the entire scene pass in my mind.

God bless~
