Deep in my prideful heart
I heard the chainsaw start.
But God! I yearned for more.
The branches, tagged to trim,
I still depend on them.
Oh God, I yearned for more.
I labored without rest,
I did. I tried my best.
God, I still wanted more.
How could I let them go?
I simply do not know.
Yes, God, I still want more.
This pruning. Oh the pain!
How can it bring true gain?
My God, I yearn for more.
My precious branches fell.
Oh! Why?! I still can't tell.
God? Please refill my store.
"I took them. It’s all right.
From me, they’d blocked your sight."
But God, I still want more.
"Child, I granted your plea
For sight with which to see."
But God! I wanted more.
"Look up! Forget the past.
Your view is clear at last."
Father... God? Show me more.
By faith, I raised my eyes,
To God, the only wise.
God of sight - give me more.
Eyes full of gentle love,
Gazed down from up above.
God! I couldn't ask for more.
With my gaze fixed on him;
My sight no longer dim,
I see - he yearned for me.
Desire for him so great,
All else must simply wait.
For God is now my 'more.'

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
(Matthew 5:8 KJV)
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
(John 15:1-2 KJV)
