The banquet is prepared
Venue is His mansion;
Be sure you make it there—
So little time to spare!
Cast off all distractions
Those things which clog your mind
Ceaseless cares and worries,
The numbing daily grind
Enslaving all mankind.
Nothing’s more important
Though some might dissuade;
I am here to tell you
The entry price is paid—
“Why should you die”, He said.
“Come all you who’re thirsty”
Availing of His grace
Certify your entry
Make certain of your place—
Today there still is space.
You’ll need right attirement
To make admittance sure,
Garment of His making
Washed white and wholly pure—
By faith alone secured.
If today you hear Him
Don’t you procrastinate!
Leave the broad thronged highway
Go through the narrow gate—
Today’s the day-- Why wait?
Many will come knocking
Too late—the door is closed!
Long ignored Him calling—
Too busy I suppose—
Don’t you be one of those!
At His banquet table
Will sit His spotless bride,
The redeemed of ages
From peoples far and wide—
Will we be side by side?
